Last week of term

In amongst all our assembly rehearsals we still managed to squeeze in some learning!

In English we completed the first stage of our own story based around Roald Dahl’s ‘The Minpins’. We have really focused on quality not quantity, focusing carefully on our sentence construction and word choice. We will complete this creative writing block in the first week back.

In maths we continued our learning on fractions by exploring equivalent fractions. For example, we know half is the same as four eighths and a third is the same as two sixths. We also looked at word problems involving fractions which we found pretty challenging. For example, if Ben bakes 56 cookies and burns half, then gives a quarter to his friends, how many cookies does he have left?

This Easter there is a competition on sumdog amongst the year 3 classes: you’ve got to be in it to win it so don’t forget to log on and take part! We will announce the winner after the holidays!

We wish you all a happy and restful easter break.
